August 2, 2022 – We were pleased to be part of the TryTech ribbon cutting ceremony in Lakewood. The TryTech initiative – the first of its kind in the country – is a partnership between Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities and NorthCoast Community Homes.
Smart apartments are the new focus to make independent living possible for those with developmental disabilities. The TryTech apartments in Lakewood allow individuals with developmental disabilities to live there temporarily so they can use and try out different technologies and learn how they could help them live independently. The apartments included voice-activated tech, smart fridges, doorbells, and an iPad with access to a virtual support person at the touch of a button, will be the standard in Smart apt.
